Tick Eaters

July 21, 2018

The guineas laid later this year due to the cold spring so hatching season extended way later than usual. I have about 40 guinea keets still who need new homes to clean out ticks. These birds eat ticks like no tomorrow. We used to have ticks terribly bad, so bad that you couldn't even walk out in the driveway by the house without them crawling up your legs, yuck. Now I have 7 males who free range around here & we rarely see ticks where they range. For anybody struggling with ticks & live in the country these are the birds for you. Mine just roost in the trees year round & although I do feed them some, it's not much during the summer while they're free ranging. They will eat other bugs too & help control snakes as well.
